In my perspectives class, a few people shared about community development and these were a few projects that different organizations were working on collaboratively. It was super encouraging to me to see churches work with each other to find genuine needs in poverty neighborhoods and use people from the market place with skills to significantly change these communities to be able to sustain themselves. They work through emergency relief and betterment to get the people to be able to sustain themselves and then pour back into the community (which = smart economics.) I just thought it was really cool that different faith organizations were working with each other and the market place to utilize basic economics to the advantage of a community and to end poverty. I thought you guys would find it cool as well. Be encouraged. :) -Lydia significantmatters.com/significantmatters.com/the-co-opwww.avenueoflife.org/(this organization is based in Peru so it doesn't work with the others, but they still work with the other concepts and they use the "teach people to fish" concept which is cool.) www.missionsintheamazon.com/
